No revenue loss to govt , taxes are paid via advance tax/self-assessment regardless.

📢 MAKE 31ST OCTOBER THE PERMANENT TAX AUDIT DUE DATE

No one would seek an extension beyond 30th September if:

✅ Q4 TDS Return remains due by 30th April

✅ Form 26AS & AIS are available by 15th May

✅ All ITRs, Form 3CD, 10B & 10BB and e-filing utilities are available by 15th May

✅ Non-audit ITR due date remains 31st July

QUALITY COMPLIANCE NEEDS ADEQUATE TIME

Tax Audit is not just form-filling.
It requires proper verification, reconciliation, documentation and professional judgement.

📌 31st October should be the permanent Tax Audit due date — not an extension, but a practical compliance deadline.

The demand of the majority of tax professionals is simple and practical:

• Tax Audit Report — permanently fixed at 31st October
• ITR filing for audited cases — 30th November
• Company statutory forms/ROC filings — 31st December

A stable compliance calendar is better for professionals, taxpayers and the system itself.

As far as I know, no representation has yet been made by any major trade bodies or professional institute for extension of the Tax Audit due date.

Considering the workload of Tax Audit Reports on professionals, the due date may kindly be extended to 31.10.2026.

Extend the due date of Tax Audit Reports to 31st December 2026. A 27–30 day window for completing 100+ audits is not practical and risks compromising audit quality.

No one demanded an extension of the 31st July or 31st August due dates because sufficient time was available.

But completing Tax Audit within one month is practically impossible. Quality audit requires proper verification, review and reporting.

Reuquest Extension upto 31st Oct For Tax audit.

Dear @IncomeTaxIndia,

By permanently shifting the Non-Audit ITR due date to 31 August, you did a great favour to taxpayers.

However, it created a little problem for taxpayers falling under Tax Audit.

Permanently shifting the Tax Audit due date to 31 October would be a historic decision and a true example of Ease of Doing Business.

Hope the Government considers it.
