Debunking the Phantom Debts and Ecological Loan Fallacy
My attention has been drawn to trending claims by the Anambra State Government that my administration left behind inherited debts, including a ₦2 billion ecological loan, contractor liabilities, and unpaid salaries, gratuities, and pensions. This is completely false.
We systematically liquidated historical gratuities and arrears dating back several years, amounting to over ₦35 billion. At the point of handover, the state owed nothing in salaries, gratuities, or pensions, nor did we owe anything to any contractor for projects duly executed and certified.
The ₦2 billion ecological fund in question was released barely three months before the end of my tenure for the Oko/Umuchiana erosion crisis. Despite pressure to spend the money, I refused, insisting that it should be left for my successor because government is a continuum and the funds were tied to a specific project.
The money was therefore left 100 per cent intact in First Bank, in Account No. 2018779464, with a balance of over ₦2.13 billion.
It is important to stress that funds tied to specific projects or set aside for particular purposes were not even included in the over ₦75 billion in savings we left behind.
If anybody can establish anything to the contrary, I will stop campaigning. -PO
A few days ago, I received unsolicited offers of $3 million, along with an invitation to a confidential meeting in London, from a highly placed individual whom I have been informed is connected to #Nigerian President Bola #Tinubu. I believe these offers were an attempt to persuade my firm to end our campaign concerning President Tinubu's alleged #heroin-trafficking records.
I refused the offers, immediately preserved screenshots of the exchanges, and forwarded all the evidence to the U.S. Department of Justice (@TheJusticeDept). It remains shocking to me that, despite the @FBI and #DEA's heroin-trafficking allegations concerning Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, @CNN , the @washingtonpost, and the @nytimes have never reported on this shocking story.
It seems The Washington Post’s slogan, “Democracy Dies in Darkness,” applies only when The Washington Post is scrutinizing President @realDonaldTrump and @Republicans. When it concerns the @JoeBiden Administration blocking the release of drug-trafficking documents concerning an African president, there is silence. True journalism in America is dead.

The quality of a nation’s health care system mirrors the health of the nation’s population. It’s saddening that the nation’s political leadership deliberately ignores the health care system and continues to bask in the euphoria of their irresponsible leadership, which have stalled every aspect of national development and collective growth.
Most sadly, the victims of this irresponsible political leadership will be here online insulting and condemning a private individual who’s using his hard earned money to try to effect a positive change in the country by going about donating to schools, hospitals, and other critical areas of development.
This country can only move forward when the mass of the population collectively rebuke and reject irresponsible leadership. But how could this be, when as a nation we have failed to build national identity and when we are so divided along tribal and religious sentiments.
It’s so heartbreaking that with all the natural resources and solid mineral deposits that abound every sections of the country, we still as a nation suffering from multidimensional poverty and widespread undevelopment.
An alien who is in the U.S. temporarily and wants a Green Card must return to their home country to apply.
This policy allows our immigration system to function as the law intended instead of incentivizing loopholes.
The era of abusing our nation’s immigration system is over.
@BRICSinfo While the U.S. is fighting to sustain its influence in the geopolitical space, china, Russia, and other emerging powers are aligning and establishing multilateralism. It feels like a restart of the Cold War.
Wow! The reason why we want to go to the Moon or Mars is because we want to secure our collective consciousness. Instead of expending billions in hard currencies to secure the future of consciousness in millions of miles away Mars, why can’t spend these billions to fight what is threatening the future of consciousness here on earth. I thought the intention was to make the human race Multi-planetary.
It’s gone for life. They had an opportunity to align with the people, they instead chose to play to the schemes of a perpetual runner. One man’s overzealous ambition has been the clog in the wheel of a better Nigeria since 2015. Now that Mr. Peter Obi, the people’s choice, is leaving them to play their patronage politics, the party is now finally ruined. Tinubu and APC’s moles who had been working hard to disrupt ADC can now rest to enjoy the kickbacks and bribes from Mr. Tinubu’s government.
This could only happen in Nigeria. It’s sadly undemocratic that an Electoral Act of 2026 which was passed into law in a joint session by the legislature was altered and new provisos that allow open rigging were sneaked-in under the nose of the both houses.
Tax laws were similarly altered to give the executive an overreaching power.
All these would have been impeachable offenses, had it been Nigeria operating an effective democracy that’s open to scrutiny and accountability.
While they flex muscles and refusing to reach a negotiated settlement, the whole world is suffering from the economic strangulation that follows. The elites and the rich are okay regardless of how long this war is dragged, It’s the ordinary people that will continue to bear the burden of this crisis.
A Nation’s soft power is reinforced by its military power. World superpowers sustain their perceived global hegemony through economic, social, and military dominances. However, a nation’s soft power or influence becomes diminished when the power-illusion, be it economically or militarily, which have sustained its position at the geopolitical scene is cracked by certain events like that of the US-Iran situation. Many nations have become militarily advanced, hence existing superpower nations should be extra strategic to ensure that their illusion of power which they created over the decades is maintained to continually sustain their global influence and hegemonic standing.
CAF overturned Senegal 🇸🇳 2025 afcon victory on the grounds that they forfeited when they walked out of the pitch in protest of the late hour penalty awarded to Morocco 🇲🇦.
That being said, Morocco has now been declared winner of the AFCON 2025. It was promised to them at the start of competition, CAF is just redeeming its promise. Afcon has now become a competition to be either won on the pitch or through the back door 🚪
Congratulations to Morocco!! It’s well deserved based on the passion they displayed on the pitch and through their master class infrastructures.
It appears Iran military and weaponry capabilities were underestimated. The World leadership needs to coalesce to find a negotiated settlement, and end further escalations.
@jacksonhinkle This war is now a chess game of mutual economic sabotage. Iran is coming at the U.S. dollar by trying to de-dollarize the Middle East. If they accept, it will automatically make Chinese yuan a global currency, a new petrol currency.
Fraud is a crime on its own, so it’s advisable that the youths be encouraged to invest these talents in legitimate ventures.
Why Christian Association of Nigeria is quick to rebuking yahoo boys, but are comfortably in cohort with the political elites siphoning our collective wealth to line their pockets and that of their families? These religious organizations and their GOs have become over time a safe haven where politicians hide their stolen money.
When a scandalous incident is tied to the heart of a state’s bureaucracy and its institutional networks, justice becomes a mere concept as enforcement mechanism becomes deliberately comatose in order to maintain stability and to prevent institutional implosion.
Hence, this is the end of the Epstein scandal because prosecution will further threaten the state’s stability.
Bureaucracy also find a way to preserve itself😂 lol
The world trade system has changed, with China 🇨🇳now contributing more than 26% of the world GDP, they are in tune with the dynamics of the global economic reality, if the Chinese call for yuan to become a global reserve currency.
America needs to strengthen relationship with its global trade partners. If today yuan becomes an alternative global reserve currency to the dollar, it means the new world order (multilateralism) is home, and it’s no longer just an abstract concept in the realm of ideations.
Adversarial political system stalls fast-paced development, especially in nations that are yet to build strong sense of nationality because many political elites will betray their nations under the guise of oppositional politicking at the expense of the country’s future.
Though, outright ban on political parties will stifle opposing voices that would have enhanced policy decisions and outcomes.
Democracy thrives on the convergence of different views and interests. Hence, a ban on political parties is an open assault on democracy, but the thing is that Burkina Faso people claimed they are practicing a new system of governance which they called popular people’s revolution.
Example: Nigerian economy was developing faster during the Jonathan regime, but adversary politicking ruined the country and made it ‘A now disgraced country’ where nonstate actors and bandits are going about unabated unaliving people in their villages, farmlands, homes, and places of worship.
Political, economic, and maybe military dependency are effective strategies that sustain hegemony of the world superpowers. It sustains and strengthens bilateral cooperations. However, when it becomes a tool of strangulation to force compliance, it motivates the dependents to seek independence through diversification.
Europe is just realizing that total dependency on grounds of bilateral cooperation is in fact a security threat in terms of economic and defense. It’s surprising that Europe now seeks economic cooperation with China, the same china whose economic expansion around the globe was once a threat to their interests in the geopolitical scene.
We are in strange times! Europe and Canada are now championing multilateralism; allowing the new world order to gain tractions.
