🚨 XRP Ledger Completes Cross-Border Settlement of Tokenized U.S. Treasuries

The XRP Ledger has been used to complete the first near real-time, cross-border redemption of a tokenized U.S. Treasury fund between global financial institutions.

The pilot brought together Ondo Finance, JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform, Mastercard, and Ripple, demonstrating how public blockchain infrastructure can work alongside traditional banking rails in a single transaction flow.

Ondo redeemed its tokenized U.S. Treasury fund OUSG on the XRP Ledger, with the blockchain leg settling in under five seconds.

Mastercard’s Multi-Token Network routed the settlement instructions to Kinexys, which then delivered U.S. dollar proceeds to Ripple’s bank account in Singapore — completing the transaction outside normal banking hours.

This is significant because it combines tokenized real-world assets with existing banking infrastructure rather than replacing it.

On-chain asset redemption → regulated fiat settlement → near real-time cross-border workflow.

This is what real-world blockchain utility looks like. 🌎
