Flying with Diabetes: Douglas Cairns
Douglas was a RAF jet flying instructor at the age of 25 when he was suddenly grounded by type 1 diabetes. However, his passion for flying continued in 2001 with a private pilot licence to fly with insulin treated diabetes in the USA.
CANCELLED: With advanced ticket sales being low, the 2025 Lord Mayor's Rainbow Valentine's Ball has sadly had to be cancelled. It was due to be staged at the Guildhall in Hull on Friday 14 February. Thank you to those who were involved in preparations for the event @Hullccnews
