Interdisciplinary team of researchers @unifr exploring the potential of DNA nanotechnology to fabricate optical antennas to control light at the nanoscale
What do the freezing process and the 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry have to do with the functionalization of nanoparticles ... and why would it matter? Check out our latest work out in @J_A_C_S https://t.co/9FUryKzjzk in collaboration with @HiroshiSug61443 and Denis Garoli. 1/4

It was great to meet @HiroshiSug61443, our longtime collaborator on all things silicon. 🎉
He gave an informal talk, and we also had the chance to share our work with him.
Always inspiring to exchange ideas and catch up in person!

It was a great visit to @GuilleAcuna_Lab at Fribourg. Many thanks to Guillermo for his warm hospitality. We exchanged many ideas for collaboration and even enjoyed a real cheese fondue together.
Con gran alegría anunciamos la segunda edición del taller de formación en microscopías de super-resolución FOMISUR 2025. Becas a través de la Red Federal de Microscopía de Super-resolución

Glad our paper found a home in Small Structures @AdvPortfolio!
Thanks to Maria Sanz-Paz, Javier González-Colsa, Guillermo Serrera, Minoru Fujii, Hiroshi Sugimoto (@HiroshiSug61443), Pablo Albella, the Acuna lab for the great collaboration!
@snsf_ch for funding & @UnifrPhysics
💡 New paper alert!
Metallic nanoparticles (NPs) have long been used for enhanced spectroscopies, sensing & imaging due to their unmatched electric field enhancements.
But there's a catch:
- Fluorophores near metals often quench
- Metals suffer from ohmic losses
Alternatives?
These findings push forward new possibilities for designing nanophotonic platforms that preserve or even enhance fluorescence emission without introducing significant non-radiative losses.

Congratulations to everyone involved!🥳
I’ll be leaving Japan soon and heading to Spain for META 2025 next week and give an invited talk on chirality transfer in Si nanoparticle composites. I'm also excited to co-organize a special session together with @GuilleAcuna_Lab and Peter Zijlstra. https://t.co/kNY38cdy2z
🚨 New paper alert! 🚨
Can we simultaneously achieve deep, high-res, large field-of-view imaging without the usual trade-offs? 🤔
🧬🔬 YES: #DNA_PAINT + Spinning Disk Confocal + Optical Photon Reassignment (#SDC_OPR)! #SuperResolution

Many thanks to @ssimoncelli and the whole team for this excellent work!
In this collaborative effort, we show a powerful tool for imaging complex biological systems and push super-resolution imaging to new limits and achieve sub-10 nm precision across large FOVs
