Coronary sinus reducer implantation may be safe & feasible, w/ promising antianginal efficacy in patients w/ refractory angina, according to a meta-analysis published in #JACCINT. However, larger trials are needed to assess efficacy.

Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) devices that are currently undergoing clinical testing have a high anatomical screen failure rate due to challenges with annulus size or left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. The Saturn valve is a TMVR bioprosthesis that has a central valve mechanically connected to an annular ring. It features a low-profile design with a small footprint in the left ventricle. The annular structure and the anterior connecting arm immobilize the anterior mitral leaflet, which prevents systolic anterior motion. https://t.co/ldRHNqo1jU
@CicUdevices@GuinotPg@ThibautPommier Thank you for your comment. Just careful wiring of the VSD (left to right ventricle) to avoid wire entrapment in the micro-axial pump and to check for absence of Impella mobilisation during prosthesis positioning.

Despite lower baseline risk, #cvCABG + #SAVR in patients w/ severe AS & #cvCAD was associated w/ a higher rate of death & #stroke compared to #PCI + #TAVR, highlighting the necessity for a large, randomized analysis.

The DAPT-SHOCK-AMI trial explored the effectiveness of cangrelor versus crushed ticagrelor in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock. This randomized, double-blind, multicenter trial assessed the impact of these antiplatelet therapies on reducing major cardiovascular events, such as death, myocardial infarction, and stroke within 30 days. With an innovative approach to high-risk patients, this study aims to provide critical insights into optimizing treatment strategies in cardiogenic shock. #Cardiology #ClinicalResearch #CardiogenicShock #AMI #EAPCI #AntiplateletTherapy https://t.co/RmrrYhVdbk
Hybrid defects: the nature and position of additional defects are important for planning, usually located in the region of the FO, small secundum defects or fenestrations on the FO coexist with a PFO. If 2 defects are close together, they may be closed by a single device.🎯
After 10 years to complete it, the DanGer-SHOCK trial showed that the routine use of a microaxial flow pump with standard care in the treatment of patients with STEMI-related cardiogenic shock led to a lower risk of death from any cause at 180 days than standard care alone.
The incidence of a composite of adverse events and a range of adverse outcomes (bleeding, limb ischemia, renal replacement therapy, sepsis) was significantly higher with the use of the microaxial flow pump.
These results of Impella CP are in contrast with those of of IABP in the IABP-SHOCK II trial and venoarterial ECMO in the ECLS-SHOCK trial. Is this because of the device, or because of better patient selection than in prior trials? #ACC24

Is “primary percutaneous pulmonary intervention” the next big thing?
Pulmonary embolism is a leading cause of in-hospital mortality and the third most common cause of cardiovascular death.
Treatment options include anticoagulation, thrombolysis, or surgery, but percutaneous interventional procedures are slowly emerging.
These techniques encompass catheter-directed thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy, and hybrid approaches combining different mechanisms.
Percutaneous treatment of pulmonary embolism may be a valid alternative to traditional therapies in high bleeding risk patients and could potentially reduce the burden of mortality related to major bleeds, such as that of hemorrhagic strokes.
The safety and efficacy of these techniques compared to conservative therapies have not been conclusively established.
This review offers a comprehensive evaluation of the current evidence for percutaneous interventions in pulmonary embolism and provides guidance for selecting appropriate patients and treatments.

bienvenue a toute l’équipe de coronarographie du CHU de Dijon dans le registre France PCI. 76 eme centres français . La région Bourgogne France comte avance à grand pas.
@GACIntervention
🔥WE MAKE THE VESSEL GREAT AGAIN🔥 It‘s just impressive what modern PCI can do for patients' outcomes! Thanks to modern technology #Impella#Shockwave after #Rotablation, this calcium stone was pulverized! 😳
🆘Those patients are not included in any PCI trials and still exist! 🆘
