@hispanicnomad You and I may not always necessarily agree on everything all the time. But I think your post is 100% right money. To those who made their money elsewhere, it doesn’t get any better.
@hispanicnomad Social security programs are almost always managed extremely poorly. To add insult to injury, some politicians refer to them as “entitlements”… 100% agreed, people would be much better off investing their contributions on the S&P500 instead, which is virtually foolproof.
@hispanicnomad@NoreenAGeis Sounds like a catch 22. Spain needs more workers to cover social security and pensions, but as additional housing is not readily available, up goes the cost of living.
@hispanicnomad@NoreenAGeis What about the effect Brits, Germans, French, Dutch et al have had on the real estate market in Spain? I don't believe it is negligible. Incidentally, Americans are said to be willing to spend 29% more per square meter than the average foreign buyer.
@hispanicnomad This is very interesting. I understand questioning why people that were not born in Spain, never lived there or paid taxes should vote, but that’s a different debate. This ruling leaves many Spanish citizens with no write to vote, in violation of Article 23 of the constitution.
