Both EDGE Bradyn Swinson and TE CJ Dippre were approached by other teams, including divisional rivals like the Bills, to be poached off the #NEPats practice squad. But neither wanted to leave because they love being in Foxboro.

"Yeah, other teams were reaching out about 53-man (rosters) and just reaching (saying) that’s a pay raise and everything, trying to get a spot, but I actually really wanted to be here," Swinson said. "These are guys that took a chance on me in the fifth round, and I feel like I want them to get everything they got out of me. So that just played a major role. Just being here and being with the guys that are in the locker room and just being with his coaching staff. I feel like this is a home for me, and I feel like I can grow here.”

Dippre felt the same way. "Yeah, there were other teams that were interested in signing me, and I didn’t really want to leave. They didn’t really want me to leave. So, it was kind of a thing that I wanted to stay here, earn my right here, and play here. I know all these guys, love this team, love the coaching staff.”

I remember when I came to Gillette for Drake’s first career start on 10/13/24. I stood right behind that pylon and watched you beat Stingley down the sideline to catch Drake’s first career TD pass. Funny enough, that was also your first TD catch. That’s when I knew #9-#10 would be a special connection.

Rarely do you get to see a homegrown talent come in so raw, yet develop so drastically in such a short amount of time. But that’s exactly what you did. Since the day Bill benched you after that Philly game, you busted your ass every single day to get 1% better. That’s why I respect the hell out of you.

Then when free agency came this year all the Twitter pundits counted you out. 53-man roster projections were written without your name. Beat writers wrote trade articles with you as the headline. But you never wavered.

Instead you put on your hard hat and went to work. Dominated training camp just like I knew you would. The loud twitter trolls are silent now. Tweets have been deleted, statements walked back. Soft spoken, understated, never needed the spotlight. But the real ones knew. It was always gonna be you.
