Robert Elms and my dad go back a long way, so it’s always a joy reminiscing about music and memories with him.

Friday saw the Pearly Queen of St Pancras and Chas 'n Dave's daughter @kategarnermusic drop by. The first Pearly King came from Somers Town: Henry Croft, roadsweeper, raised money for the poor - a kind of working class self-help.
There is a Blue plaque to him near our museum and an original pearly queen suit.
So another day, another article about the lack of working class folk in the arts.
Another call for outreach and mentorship
Well I say FUCK THAT
There is no aspiration gap
There is no need to show WC people what’s ‘possible’
There is simply a practicality gap
A money gap
