We are many with that problem. Don't try the uninstall etc. Niantic have no idea what they are talking about.
So don't waist your time.

We just have to wait for a fix or stop playing.

And Niantic really doesn't care much

@NianticHelp Updated, deleted app and reinstalled. Tried account on other devices but nowhere works. If I go to the closet, the screen freezes... what else can I do to make it work again?

Already tried that. Already wrote to support. I've learned that I'm not the only one with this bug by far!
Yet you seem to do nothing. And the bug isn't listed anywhere.
Been playing this since 2016. Getting pretty bored now.
