@Marcellogus@RSE_VB Reread the comment. He isn't saying Tocat/Phoenix wasn't used. He's saying they never faced a real life regiment sized strike by bombers with cruise missiles.
@johnkonrad To be fair, if the air and surface threat is too dangerous for LCS, then the Avengers arn't going there either. No one has a MCM capability that is going to easily operate in the Straits of Hormuz at the moment.
@etaimz@Habubrats71 Last US non-subsurface nuclear test was in 1962, the same year as the first flight of the A-12 predecessor of the SR-71 which entered service in 1966. Unless the bugs were lofted for a couple of years, they were not there from US tests.
@beachbattranger @Fat_Electrician As Hyman G. Rick over is reported to have said, "Fish don't vote". When we stopped building battleships and cruises we switched to naming subs after cities and states.
@acorn_antiques@vodk_anon Unless you got someone who would put the same effort into it that Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks put into Band of Brothers, I think any video adaptation would be disappointing.
@Someone26206858 @ElbridgeColby Most Chinese troops and equipment are going to come from the sea and land on a beach. Pounding those beachheads with artillery will be important.
@grim_prime@Reiku78 Depending on the altitude of the target, it might have been too high for Canada's F-18s to reach. F-22s fly higher than most other fighters. Also, the Canadian Air Force is flying old planes that are worn out. Its entirely possible they did not have any available at the time.
@kejamieson_ Captain Davenport : If you have to ditch, don't think about anything but the survival gear. At this water's temperature, you'll have about four minutes.
Jack Ryan : I'll try to remember that.
