How can we build virtual cells? Using “virtual yeast” as a starting point, we outline an AI-agent framework for predictive, interpretable, and experimentally testable models of cellular behavior. https://t.co/ex4jO8kGrn #VirtualCell#AIforScience#SystemsBiology#Proteomics
Latest research from the Tiannan Guo Lab at Westlake University School of Medicine, published in Nature: The team has created an anatomically resolved human proteome atlas, quantifying 13,609 proteins across 58 major tissue types and 25 carcinomas.
The study features:
🧬 A spatial proteome map covering fetal, adult, adjacent non-tumor, and tumor tissues
🧬 Tissue-specific protein signatures that refine human proteome annotation
🧬 Systematic characterization of cancer-associated protein changes across multiple tumor types
🧬 Tumor-specific protein features with implications for cancer biology and therapeutic target discovery
🧬 An open-access database, ProteinTalks (https://t.co/sYg56EhQ8S), to enable proteome exploration and support drug discovery research

Deeper is not always better in plasma proteomics
More proteins ≠ better insight. Without clean samples, “depth” can be misleading.
A clean-first perspective on plasma proteomics
Great collaboration with Matthias Mann @labs_mann
In our new @NatureBiotech Comment with Tiannan Guo @Guomics, we argue: depth without quality control is artifact, not discovery.

🚨 Hot off the press in Cell!
Aging isn’t just about wrinkles—it’s molecular! 🧬
A team from Prof. Tiannan Guo’s Lab(@guomics )at Westlake University School of Medicine has mapped how protein restriction (PR) reshapes the aging process across 41 mouse tissues. Their study reveals how tweaking protein intake can modulate aging-related proteins, epigenomic states, and even phosphorylation patterns—with some surprising sex-specific effects!
💪 Could your diet be the key to healthier aging?
