A Baroque Lutheran church built from 1726 to 1743, it was destroyed in the Allied firebombing of Dresden in 1945 and rebuilt between 1994 to 2005.
A bronze statue of Martin Luther, present since 1885, survived the bombing.
It is an active Evangelical Lutheran parish.
