@ProjectStrider@ThtsNotGoneWell@Springhill_CC It is if you want to drink, unless you always have a designated driver. Give me a stadium in the city centre near to a load of pubs any day. Mind this whole USA v Europe thing is daft anyway, I'm sure there's great stadia in the states that I'd love and vice versa
@SCFCJosh96 I still say people will get interested when it's knockouts. Shit loads of games to knock out 12 sides (almost all of which wouldn't have even qualified in previous tournaments) just means there's no jeopardy whatsoever. Be interesting to see who the highest rank elimination is
@BluesDan_@greggmunikwa This. I had years when Shearer was the main man. Still jumped about like a lunatic whenever he scored for England. When they're representing England they're fine by me. Supporting the national team can be amazing, shame some choose not to but up to them
@dsmith_8 Because the group stage is going to be a procession for everyone that isn't Kazakhstan, cape Verde, Curacao and the likes. There'll be more buzz around it when it gets into the last 32, maybe last 16
@MarkOHaire Group stage used to be the best bit. You could go, knowing you were going to see your team play. There were matches every day. If a big nation lost one, they're remaining games had jeopardy. Now it's boring as fuck, won't feel like it's started until the last 32, maybe last 16
@allyspeirs@itvfootball Is it not something that all teams do, and it's sent to all the commentary teams around the world? British commentators should obviously be fine with all these, but Japanese etc might not be. Equally I'm sure the British commentators will want the Japanese teams version of this
@TEKNOPUG@FTBLsection Absolutely this. Given the quality of teams you can face (as you say, the strongest teams from the current season, not the last) I'd say it's easier to qualify now, but at least as hard as ever to win
@JoaoAreYouDoing Doesn't feel like it's starting in just over a week. Don't think it's because it's in USA. I think it's because they've killed the group stage. Loads of games to knock 12 weak teams out. It'll feel more exciting when we get to the knockouts
@kevinhatchard I like most English teams getting quite far because it's more interesting to watch, I'd have no interest in sporting v Sparta Prague or something. But the more they win the bigger the gap. Plus their fans come to our ground taking the piss, so not sure why we should support them
@IamBalhamMatt The question I always ask. If your club was an international side, would you be eligible to play for them? If yes, crack on. If no, well, you can support who you want, but a club represents a city, town or a part of a city so you'll never truly get it
@ibetpal The worst we look likely to get is 1am on a Monday morning. Other than having to use a days annual leave that sounds class. Pints on Sunday evening then the match. If we come 3rd in group we might have one 2am but it's all good, like you say most are 10, then 8 in latter stages
@MilanZak6 Lots of people are fine with it tbh. And a 1am kick off sounds class. Evening on the drink, watch the match. Just use a few days of annual leave if drinking during a match that starts that kind of time on a work day. Most of our games are likely to be 10pm which is spot on
@Semejantes Hang on though, he hid it in his arse. How is that the most unthinkable of places? Of all the places someone is likely to try and stick gold, up their arse is about the most likely, he's hardly going to fucking carry it out is he? If that baffled security they need a new job
@nuejaebs Genuinely puts me off wanting to watch matches in the pub. Completely spoils it for everyone there. If you're going to be checking your phone and can't control yourself, don't fucking go out to watch it
@LiamVolos@michael_lee1317@F365 Completely agree with this. Some fans of other sides might want to see English teams fail. I was pretty neutral on Sunday but I do get it. But I'd expect the TV channel to be biased towards the English side in a cup final. Not sure why anyone would expect anything else
@Timjimted@MillwardShaine Agreed, you can tell as soon as you speak to them. I wouldn't rip the piss regardless tbh, but if they were proper gooners you'd sympathise rather than antagonise. Not exactly CL final levels, but we've all seen our clubs lose huge games and real fans should have a bit of respect
@lee1892Johnson I mean, it didn't really need an AI checker to tell, but here we are. I'd say that in today's world we need to be extra sceptical of things we're sent but ha'way, this one was hardly a deep fake ๐
@micconuk@SAFC_SR7 It's a great thing and I totally support rail seating areas, wish we had it in the north stand. But, when extending it, they really should have communicated prior to seat moves so that people who didn't want to/ couldn't stand in those areas could get moved together!
