@EdinburghTrams@edinhelp
There's a pop-up tower scaffold on West Maitland Street just along from the Post Office.
It's the full width of the pavement forcing pedestrians/wheelchairs/strollers on to the active tram line.
Can this be assessed as to whether barriers are required?
@Junkmai25545721 @LeithLtn @LivingStreetsEd Unsure of your stats, and I don't feel I'm being silly seeing as, and as you've just admitted, I've proved the point of you being wrong.
I didn't even have to try that hard.
Local knowledge is key my friend π
@Junkmai25545721 @LeithLtn @LivingStreetsEd Incorrect, that's pretty much exactly what happened on Meadow Place Road 15 or so years ago.
Elderly woman used the Pelican crossing to cross 4 lanes of traffic, half way across the lights changed, a driver took off and killed her.
It's now a Puffin crossing.
@david_mccraw I noticed this on Tuesday when I cycled through, was definitely there on Monday morning.
The council's wee elves must have been out over night!
Thanks for raising the issue Dave ππ»
@peterbrownbarra@david_mccraw @ABeardWalks @Algorhythmica1 @blackfordsafer1 Eh? The catchment school is the catchment school, so it's not exactly "up to you!"?
Surely we should be congratulating & encouraging those parents who, when given a real choice, choose "active" travel.
Kudos to those who make the effort where they can ππ»
There is no contra-flow in operation and when traffic heading west queues at the lights, traffic heading east including buses and large vehicles are finding it difficult to navigate. The works have been there for over a week and I haven't seen anyone onsite to raise the issue to.
@edinhelp can someone please look at the road layout adjacent to 300 Colinton Road(Edinburgh). There are works there by @SPEnergyNetwork,the East bound lane is completely obstructed.
@CitizenSnagging@JohnFarquhar74 Yup, I picked the worse 2 weeks to be off work and not being able to go on holiday.
These guys start at 0830 sharp (some times earlier!).
There is no respite from the constant percussive hammering, too slow to dance to, too fast to sleep to π
@7Dexter007@edinhelp@Edinburgh_CC@ge_moving I've seen them divert the pedestrian footpath on to the "closed" lane as well as there's nowhere else for people to pass by the works.
If it's any consolation, on Friday at peak evening traffic, the reduction of lanes didn't seem to affect the Glasgow Road traffic too much.
@edinhelp@7Dexter007@Edinburgh_CC@ge_moving There's contractors working there as they were spotted on Friday afternoon (rare occurrence) just not 100% of the time.
Looks like they're working on utilities(electrical) as the footpath from Morrisons/Gyle Centre to Glasgow Rd is also closed (diversion) with Hera's fencing.
Apparently this is perfectly ok because the abandoned car has a note in the window, inviting anyone to ring the doorbell of the adjacent house if anyone thinks this is a problem/obstruction.
Directly behind this house, there are 4 free visitor spaces.
