@david_mccraw @ShowMeASignBryn Overseen by active travel and last season's TEC @lmacinnessnp at its inception. Well executed and received by the community π€£π€£ Here's hoping @CllrScottArthur can start to sort the mess our city has become.
@FrankRoss06@jomowat Previous stewards of T&E were busy pandering to sustrans, plastic posts and ignoring real needs. Dalmahoy, risks ignored, postponed due to "rising cost" year after year. Hope this week's accident survivors are ok. Let's not have short memories and covid-wash everything.
@david_mccraw Clearly not a user. Reality = All traffic from Airport to Newbridge flows better during peak since the opening up of the bus lane, which incidentally starts *after* the airport exit; just to keep the Greens honest here, ask the actual users of this corridor.
@rimc123 @EastCraigsBC @CllrScottArthur @FrankRoss06 Better get banging on to @scotgov and @Edinburgh_CC to have an integrated transport plan and deliver upon it - they keep letting developers hide behind the "...it's in the City Deal..." when it really isn't.
@EastCraigsBC @CllrScottArthur The developer pot myth is bust as well, at CCC meeting earlier this year the focus of West Edinburgh developers was the infrastructure "inside" the developments. The supposed pot does not cover the significant changes needed at Gogar-Maybury-Barnton. @FrankRoss06 was there 2/2
@EastCraigsBC @CllrScottArthur Other than providing poor flow today, not seeing how the proposal improves this at DR, this is a heavy used arterial junction with many west / east bus services. Not following on the barrier for community, plenty of crossings north / south / west / east here. 1/2
@CllrScottArthur Good decision. Frequent travel westbound in rush-hour sees an empty lane and traffic idling while backed up from Newbridge roundabout to where the bus lane commences by the airport exit ramp.
@CllrScottArthur @cocteautriplets Rightly so. The community was lied to. No Consultation. Obsification was the mantra of the prior administration, looking forward to real engagement from all parties and stakeholders under this new administration. Can't be any worse. Do be accountable though.
@david_mccraw@EdinburghBikes Can't have it all ways. Didn't the update to highway code help clarify cyclists *don't* need to use the bike lanes? Meanwhile, another business takes a needless bashing from the obsessed lobby. The irony of the business involved...perhaps common sense has truly gone!
@lmacinnessnp@SueJWebber@Curlywurlyjen @CandidateCowdy Publish last 5 years, total revenue CEC raised, annually from parking, up significantly, total revenue raised by Edinburgh road users motoring, public transport, duties et al. Getting fair share from https://t.co/m0smLgw9TU are you? State Edinburgh of infrastructure is shocking.
@drewglasgow@david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp@Edinburgh_CC You do realise this thread is about avoiding obstacles that have caused harm to walkers and cyclists not a discussion on cars? it's about avoidability and predictability ignored by the council. Sorry if that doesn't fit your MrAngry narrative.
@david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp @StandardsScot Appreciate that First Miniature prematurely brought the curtain down on panto season, doesn't need you bringing the "...he's behind you..." yell's and deflections into this discussion. Our city has had enough sufferance, politics not needed.
@david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp @StandardsScot Keep this on topic. It concerns all wards, politics doesn't need to be a feature, only those who seek to play the "...look over there..." and are thus in a baseless defence of the indefensible.
@david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp@Edinburgh_CC It is further unacceptable, frankly downright disgusting, to then claim this is "tad less controversial". Disrespects the injured parties and amounts to a level of contempt and failure of public office.
@david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp@Edinburgh_CC Now who is trying to use obtuse math? Anymore than zero incidents, through the creation of trip hazard, known to be the risk trip/fall/cycle-crash, refer to @edinburgh_CC own risk register, is unacceptable. Public office is not about creating issues, then doing nothing about them
@lmacinnessnp@david_mccraw While your humming Transport Convenor - a reminder of Transport Committee party politics hurting folks by ignoring this - we can assure you sure the injured citizens of Edinburgh, non-political as we don't care about party politics, arent humming. @StandardsScot
@david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp@Edinburgh_CC (2)...now that probability of trip (PT), ability to do Predicted PT model shows with increasing obstacle heights (e.g. PT for an unseen 0.5 cm obstacle is 1 in 95 strides and PT for an unseen 1.0 cm obstacle is 1 in 2 strides) - not hard is it. @david_mccraw@lmacinnessnp Reminding folks of the @Edinburgh_CC and @lmacinnessnp insight into the accidents waiting to happen, as for the maths and putting party politics to one side (though our council seem unable to do that); there is a distinct probability (p) of trip (t) ...(1)
