Today my opponent in the midterms, Congressman Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, was one of 216 members of the house of representatives who voted to merge the US Military with the Israeli military. While people struggle with affordability, and healthcare in this country, this is what our representatives are focused on.

Lawyer Thought: Section 219 and the related sections of the NDAA literary have the capacity to mandate treason under the law.

At this moment Israel is officially considered an ally. That’s now.

If Israel should ever become an enemy this law would mandate giving comfort and aid to an enemy… the constitutional definition of treason.

It would also restrict the President’s capacity to lead in foreign policy substantially.

Further, the Constitution explicitly grants certain authorities to OUR federal officials. It seems a stretch to think our founding fathers would be okay delegating military authority to a foreign power… any foreign power.

The Israel/US military merger appears to be wildly unconstitutional. It is one of the most visible demonstrations yet that our government serves only special interests and not the American people.
