This legend will burn her last bunker of coal in just over 48 hrs, marking the END of coal fired electricity generation in GB after 142 years. @RobBurnett92 will be doing a joint thread on coal in British power stations from 1882-2024 to send her into retirement with dignity 🇬🇧

Not sure about the skills. We are being asked to jump out of the blocks pretty quickly PM. We need root and branch review of education, culture, training and how we mentor and coach engineers. We have to get people hungry for hands on experience, with folks like me, ASAP

Thoughts on the end of coal generation. I went here as a 16 year old lad for work ex in EC&I. I LOVED it 💙 The size, scale, smells, HEAT 🥵, sweat, dust, noise is quite indescribable. Unless you been in the turbine hall, it’s impossible to comprehend the enormity 😳 [1/10]

@AerLingus cancelled flight Sunday 7th so they put us on the 6:30am flight out of Dublin even though there is a flight at 3pm - won’t pick up the phone either! I understand the situation but come on guys change our flight on the same day as you want over £1000 for the privilege!
