My dad and I filed a federal lawsuit this week, and I want to explain it in my own words.

Last September, my varsity team played a match without being told who we would be competing against, and our lawsuit says the adults in charge knew a day ahead of time and kept it from us and from our parents.

I believe girls deserve to know the truth before they step into the locker room, and not after.

I just watched this testimony by 9/11 firefighter John Morabito and I feel so sick.

''I could feel something going underneath the tires of my truck. And it was slippery and soft. And I said, ''This is people. We’re running over people.''

In front of One World Trade Center ... I see a man come walking out, and he’s completely engulfed in flames. He’s on fire. And his skin is dripping like wax. He’s just falling to the ground. And he stops in the middle of the street, and he looks up at me, and I can see his eyes are black, and his hair is gone, and he’s on fire, and I’m like, ''Oh, my God.''

We started spraying him down, and we were using a fire blanket to help put out the flames, and his skin was sticking to the blanket. We were pulling his skin off.

And I found out later on that 85% of his body was burned, but that he did survive ... in hindsight, he saved my life, this guy. And he probably saved the life of these ambulance drivers as well.''
