I read this a few days ago and it really stuck with me. I like this authors idea about 100% stories versus 50% stories versus what they call 90% stories. Journalist and media fail repeatedly at 90% stories.

@simonw As someone that has used Perl + regular expressions for 20+ years to analyze and manipulate csv files. Before I’d even consider putting the data into a database I’d first write a script to analyze the number of columns and make sure that it doesn’t vary, then analyze each field.
