@IfSatoshi@WinterBornn@grok I'm not arguing that Messy isn't a great man and soccer player. I'm not into soccer and couldn't care less about that stuff. He could easily live the Dan lifestyle if he wanted it. The fact that he chooses to live as a family man is what I admire as a family man myself.
@IfSatoshi@WinterBornn@grok I was referring to the family life. Which I do have, I have a great wife whom we both love each other deeply and three amazing children. You're right about the soccer and fame, ask Messy which he prefers. I guarantee you it's his family.
@LindenmuthWendi Visited my brother and his wife in Florida. Weather was warm with a nice breeze. We had a bbq, nephew, wife and child came over. Music playing in the background. We had fun fawning over the toddler, joked around the grill, everyone jumped on the pool. Amazing meal afterward.
@downbadcomment Husband's feelings are hurt and understandably so. The daughter is writing off the past 21 years. It's understandable to want to reconnect with biological dad. That said, the wife's job is to be in her husband's side and remind the daughter that her stepdad isn't chopped liver.
@Moni_something@WallStreetApes I don't like the "bottom 1-2" moniker. Too much room for those numbers to start creeping up. With AI and robots coming, it's only going to get worse. Soon it will be the moniker will become the "bottom 50%".
@KT_Carlisle As an aspiring author who's never sent a book to an editor. What do you guys do exactly? Grammar/typos? and stylistic recommendations? do editors review the book and give your opinion on it? whether it might be worthy of sending it to an agent? That kind of stuff.
@YumCaleb My take is that TXST budgets have always strived to be in the top half of their conference. The problem was that the top half of any of our previous conferences didn't take account of being in Texas with a dozen plus Texas schools to compete with.
@everest_r58083 I typically like around 2,500-3,000 words. I'm currently working on a story where I have a few thousand-word chapters and they feel way too small.
@WilChanWrites I think you should write a book on how you got there. Almost a million pages on six books, that's seriously impressive. Heck even the 30-40k pages is amazing. I can't get even 1 kenp read. Although, to be honest I do zero marketing.
@DollyT222027 I can see where some people would do that as a journaling exercise. With that said, I do think that sharing, putting your work out there is part of the process.
@AStateFanRules Personally I'll still be checking in on Sun Belt teams. Specifically, the western Sun Belt. stAte, UL and South Alabama were always teams I kept an eye on. Hopefully we can get to play OOC sometime.
@Luminouslead To me it's a case of an ordinary person being put into an extra-ordinary position. I would like to think that I, along with most of us would've reacted differently, but it wouldn't have made for a good horror movie.
@tonyhenandez790 London this morning was draped in a fog the color of weak tea, chimneys belching soot into the sky, hansom cabs rattling along the cobblestones. It is, I suppose, an appropriate setting for a farewell to civilization.
