@KN0WST00MUCH towards the entrance, something caught her eye, or more someone. An old friend’s husband.
She never was one to resist when her curiosity called, so she ventured into the classroom, now devoid of students as school was recently out.
“Duty calls even after the bell rings, huh?”

Miss Holloway was dropping off baskets covered by cloths. She placed them in the back of the cafeteria. They were filled with baked goods. She was helping out the kids with the bake sale fundraiser and decided to drop them off herself.
In walking back —
Holloway put her hands up in mock surrender.
“Sorry, hun, didn’t mean to startle you. Are you alright? It’s mighty late out.”
The concern on her face was apparent but an element of excitement was suddenly mixed in.
“Blondie. You sure have some killer music taste, darlin.”
Steph had arrived at the park on one of her midnight walks to clear her head and whatever else she needed to do. She had lost track of time laying down on a bench with her hood on and music playing softly from her phone.
All that to get startled by some lady who had approached-
Holloway knew deep down that she would never put this topic down, no matter how many times she attempted to put it to bed.
She sighed deeply, staying silent for a moment, as she stared at the numbers on the oven decreasing.
“Dahlia, I know you’re curious.” —
“Okay. Okay. Sorry for asking again… I just— I want to know him. I get my curiosity from you, this is your fault”
She jokes softly to defuse the tension as she takes out her homework to do while the pizza heated up
“Uncle John said he was a deadbeat. So he knows?”
She turned her face towards her. Her expression somber, but genuine.
“If I told you, you’d just- it wouldn’t matter.”
She then continued her silence for a longer moment that felt like it stretched on for eternity.
“Hun, he does not know that you exist.” —
@thatgirljerii Holloway still wore that warm smile as she retrieved a pen from her apron and clicked it.
“That’s nice! I find I’m not much too busy on weekdays at a time like this.”
She said, gesturing to the mostly empty diner.
“Do you enjoy being busy? I bet that camp keeps ya busy!”
@UncleWileyy Suddenly, her glare fell, and with it, her disgust. She uncrossed her arms and gazed at him, this time without intense resentment in her eyes.
“What were your reasonings?”
She asked, seriously and genuinely.
“I know mine. Do you know yours?”
She couldn’t help herself.
“Coven, huh? Spooky. You guys work for a witch?”
She accompanied the question with a chuckle. Making sure that, hopefully, no one would notice that she was seriously probing, and not making a simple joke.
Holloways ears perked up at the name ‘coven’, like a dog’s do at the word ‘treat’. Interesting, she mused. She had a knack for these things, and for the first time in a while, she wasn’t happy to think something was up. She could feel it in the bones of the building. —
Grayson’s cheerful demeanor seemed to waver for a moment when he was asked about the company.
“Oh, it’s CCRP… Coven Communications Research and Power. This here is the technical department!”
This certainly wasn’t any witchcraft. At least not the kind she practiced. As she came back to reality she found herself staring at the nicely wrapped delivery bag. She shook her head slightly. She shouldn’t. She should just leave, she had done her job. —
“Like that would ever happen.”
She shakes her head. A pang in her heart tells her that perhaps she was being too aggressive, but it was quickly overcome by common sense and her aged survival instincts.
“When /was/ the last time you had a coffee, Wilbur?”
She tilts her head.
Holloway scoffs at him, her eyes instinctively roll. She wasn’t about to let her guard down around this servant of those that lurk in the dark. But, perhaps she thought, fighting wasn’t the best approach she could take. Plus, dying was a bitch, a reaaal bitch.

“Keep telling yourself that, sweetheart”.
He grins, twirling the knife over and over before throwing it to the ground. It doesn’t make it, disappearing between this reality and the next.
“Besides, I’m not in the mood to fight to the death today. Throw some more compliments —
“Fine.”
She said, a determined spreading across her face as she bit at her inner cheek. She puts her hands up in a relenting nature but only for a moment. You could never really know Wilbur’s next move. But he seems to not be itching for a fight at this very moment.
