"Egypt can no longer claim 100% control over the Nile when it does not contribute a single drop of water to the river." — Amb. @TiborPNagyJr@RAbdiAnalyst
Ethiopia contributes more than 85% to Nile, whereas Egypt contributes 0%. But Ethiopia, 85% contributor, is saying let us share the water fairly, whereas Egypt, 0% contributor, I need to control it. What a high moral value from the Ethiopian side and a low moral value from Egypt.
It’s New Year in Ethiopia 🇪🇹 , Welcome to the year 2017.
The Ethiopian Calendar, also called “Ge'ez,” is seven to eight years behind the Gregorian Calendar. Remember Ethiopia wasn’t colonized they even defeated the Italians in Adwa.
Apart from a five-year occupation by Mussolini's Italy, it has never been colonised. It has a unique cultural heritage, being the home of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church - one of the oldest Christian denominations - and a monarchy that ended only in the coup of 1974.
Happy New Year 🎊
🇸🇴🇪🇹 BREAKING: Ethiopia officially recognizes Somaliland as independent.

“We urge Somalia to stop political conspiracy in the Horn of Africa region. They have forgotten the sacrifice of the Ethiopian National Defense Force in Somalia [combating al-Shabaab] over the past couple of years, and it is painful for the Government of Ethiopia. Ethiopia cannot remain silent as the peace and harmony of its neighbors are turned into a playground for terrorists and anti-peace elements. People of the Horn of Africa are united by strong friendships and community ties and are no longer bound by past hostilities. Provocative comments from certain individuals and hostile forces could undermine peace efforts.”
- Taye Atske-Selassie, Foreign Minister of Ethiopia,
