The UPDATED forecast region for HBWX!!
NW Alabama has been my home for a long time and I’ve gotten to know these areas very well over the course of my life. I’ll now be covering these areas in my forecasts, but I will keep my eye out for the Southeast on a broader scale! #alwx
Little changes to the latest outlook
In my opinion this is ridiculous to keep a marginal risk for the mid south/southeast I mean this just seems like a slam dunk summer northwest flow setup to me.
The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted our area under a MARGINAL RISK (1/5) for severe weather today (Friday, May 22). This low chance of severe weather comes with small chances for both damaging winds & a brief tornado or two.
The severe weather threat is LOW, but it is still there. Have a reliable way to recieve warnings throughout the day just in case. #alwx
I am THRILLED to announce that I have started training at WVUA 23 in Tuscaloosa to eventually start weekends later this summer!
It has been a dream of mine since the 2nd grade to be a broadcast meteorologist, and though we have a bit more work to do, I am so happy to take this massive leap in the right direction.
I am so excited to start serving West Alabama very soon…and don’t worry, that orange tie will stay on as long as it can. #wvua23 #alwx
