Today, the Union Cabinet approved the following decisions under the chairship of PM @narendramodi:
โ A multi-tracking project worth Rs 1264 crore, covering three districts across Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh, which besides increasing the existing Indian Railways network by about 46 kms by 2028-29, will also enhance connectivity to approximately 99 villages.
โ Scheme of Chemical Parks Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayanโ (BHAVYA Rasayan) for establishing three dedicated Chemical Parks, running from FY 2026-27 to FY 2030-31, providing a Central grant of up to Rs 1000 crore per park. The Scheme will develop the chemical industry along the entire value chain, leading to lower logistics cost.

H.E. Mr. John Shama Shaga, the newly arrived High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Republic of Botswana, paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner of India, H.E. Mr. Bharath Kumar Kuthati.
The High Commissioner warmly welcomed his Nigerian counterpart and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and fulfilling tenure in Botswana. The two High Commissioners exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and discussed opportunities for closer engagement between both Missions.
The High Commissioner assured High Commissioner Shaga of the High Commission of India's fullest cooperation and support as he embarks on his diplomatic assignment.

A historic new frontier for Indiaโs space journey!
At 11:30 AM today, Skyroot Aerospace will undertake the maiden orbital launch of Vikram-1, Indiaโs first privately developed launch vehicle.
This four-stage rocket is designed to provide rapid and on-demand launch services. This mission highlights the talent, determination and entrepreneurial spirit of our youth. It also shows how our space-sector reforms are unlocking new opportunities for innovation and enterprise.

The agreement secures zero-duty market access for nearly 99% of India's exports, covering almost 100% of trade value. It unlocks unprecedented opportunities for our farmers, MSMEs and manufacturers. It will boost economy especially in sectors including textiles, leather, gems & jewellery, engineering goods, marine products, chemicals and processed foods.
The Agreement on Social Security exempts Indian professionals on temporary assignments from double social security contributions for up to 5 years, benefiting our skilled workforce.

Under the dynamic leadership of Hon'ble PM @NarendraModi ji, the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Agreement on Social Security, have come into force, delivering zero-duty market access for nearly 99% of India's exports, covering almost 100% of trade value.
The #IndiaUKFTA creates unprecedented opportunities for our textiles, leather, gems & jewellery, engineering goods, marine products, chemicals, processed foods, MSMEs, farmers and manufacturers. It also opens new frontiers for our IT, professional, financial, education and business services sectors, while expanding mobility for Indian talent.
The Agreement on Social Security further strengthens this partnership by exempting Indian professionals on temporary assignments from double social security contributions for up to 5 years, enhancing the global competitiveness of our workforce.

Several landmark decisions taken by the Union Cabinet today, under the leadership of PM @narendramodi. #CabinetDecisions approved:
โ Semicon 2.0 for development of India's Semiconductor design & manufacturing ecosystem, with a total budget outlay of โน 1,27,500 crore.
โ Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS) with a budgetary outlay of โน 62,500 crore, to be implemented from FY 2026โ27 to FY 2030โ31.
โ National Investment Policy for Urea-2026 for Atmanirbhar Bharat (NIPU-2026) to encourage new investments in urea sector for setting up gas-based urea manufacturing units in the country, helping achieve the goal of self-sufficiency.
โ A 43.2 km, 6/4-lane, โน 10,998.32 crore Elevated Corridor development connecting NH-31 and Varanasi Ring Road along the River Varuna for decongestion of Varanasi city in UP.
โ A 6-lane Greenfield Elevated Corridor development worth โน 14,447.64 crore between NH-19 and Varanasi Ring Road in UP on Hybrid Annuity Model, improving urban mobility.
โ Two multitracking projects costing โน 3,907 crore, covering four districts across Odisha & Jharkhand, expanding the Indian Railways network by about 145 km.

The High Commission of India, Gaborone, organised a pre-departure orientation programme for the second batch of 31 Batswana students selected under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholarship Programme for the academic year 2026โ27 at India House on 13 July 2026.
Addressing the students, the High Commissioner congratulated the ICCR scholars on their selection and wished them success in their academic journey in India. He highlighted the importance of education as a key pillar of the IndiaโBotswana partnership and encouraged the students to make the most of the academic, cultural and personal experiences that await them in India.
As part of the orientation programme, seven ICCR alumni from Botswana shared their experiences of studying in India and mentored the selected students in small groups of 4โ5 participants. The interactive sessions provided the students with practical insights into university life, accommodation, daily living, academic expectations, cultural adaptation and other aspects of their upcoming journey.
The High Commission remains committed to supporting young Batswana students and strengthening the strong people-to-people connect between India and Botswana through educational cooperation.
The High Commission wishes all ICCR scholars a safe journey and a rewarding experience in India. We look forward to welcoming them back as future professionals and ambassadors of the enduring friendship between India and Botswana.

The High Commission of India, Gaborone successfully organized a Consular Camp in Letlhakane, Botswana, on 11th July 2026. The initiative brought essential consular services closer to members of the Indian community residing in Letlhakane and the surrounding areas.
The camp witnessed an encouraging response from the Indian diaspora, who availed themselves of a range of consular services and interacted with the High Commission team. The event also provided an opportunity for community members to share their feedback and strengthen their engagement with the High Commission.
The High Commission remains committed to ensuring accessible, efficient, and citizen-centric consular services while fostering closer ties with the Indian diaspora across Botswana. We thank Dr. Kinjal Banerjee and all participants for their valuable support in making the camp a success.
