Fmr. State Rep. for Savage/NW Burnsville. Science, law, and healthcare enthusiast. When working people join together, we can achieve anything. He/him. MS2.
I became a proud DFLer because I saw something special here.
We show up for our neighbors.
We organize for the future.
We fight for the values that make this country great.
Let’s keep fighting like hell for the country we love.
sd55 have an empty chair at the table at the DFL convention in memory of khalid abdi, a 26 year old union member and community leader who was killed outside canterbury park this week after eid services. they are taking donations for his pregnant window

School meals should be universal.
Proud to partner again with @BernieSanders to introduce the Universal School Meals Program Act, which would provide free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks to students year-round.
.@IlhanMN is a champion for Minnesota's working families.
She's never backed down from a fight or a bully, and she's led with moral clarity and conviction since our days serving in the MN House.
I'm proud to have earned her endorsement, and I'm ready to work with her in DC.
Energy companies are gouging customers with rate increase after rate increase, and then turning around and paying their CEO's more and more money.
We're forcing a vote on legislation that would stop public utility companies from this C-suite price gouging.
Blue Cross Minnesota raised premiums by ~12% last year and then increased the pay of their CEO by 14% — from $4.3 to $4.9 million.
A 14% pay increase for their CEO! When’s the last time you got a 14% raise at your job?
The system is broken.
This is not just an environmental story. It is a #publichealth story.
Following the recent Senate vote reopening the possibility of copper mining in the Boundary Waters watershed, the MAFP is renewing its call for requiring health impact assessments.

Hennepin County Medical Center is a lifeline—I know, three of my kids were born there.
Republicans’ Medicaid cuts are pushing hospitals like HCMC to the brink.
This is about whether people get care in a crisis.
Minnesota cannot lose its safety net hospital.
Teachers deserve living wages.
Robbinsdale teachers have been working without a contract for over 300 days.
The district must get serious and treat our teachers with the dignity and respect they deserve.
I was proud to stand with them in their fight for a fair contract. ✊🏽
From cancer survivor to legislator to med student! ✨
After surviving cancer, Hunter Cantrell was driven to tackle healthcare barriers—first as a Minnesota state rep, now as a UMN medical student!

George Washington believed that vaccinating his troops against smallpox was the key to winning the Revolutionary War and our independence. A founding father from 250 years ago had a better understanding of science and military readiness than Pete Hegseth.
Remember this at the ballot box: Republicans voted to allow copper sulfide mining - which has NEVER not polluted - to be built in the headwaters flowing directly into the BWCA. Republicans just sold out our pristine public lands & future generations for Chilean billionaires.
Do not lose hope. This fight is not over. We should all be so proud of the coalition we built to fight this.
Tribal Nations. Outdoorsmen. Conservationists. Public lands advocates. But most importantly, Minnesotans who deeply appreciate what these waters mean to all of us and our shared obligation to safeguard them for our kids, our grandkids, and every generation thereafter.
One day, the shoe will be on the other foot, and they will regret what they did to the Boundary Waters today — because this was a mistake. They’ve set a new precedent that no public lands are ever truly safe, including those in Montana. Utah. The Dakotas. Idaho. Republicans privately told me they knew this is wrong, and I wish they had voted their conscience.
Tonight, we take a much-needed rest. Tomorrow, we figure out what comes next.
Save the Boundary Waters.
You can't mine at Yosemite. You can't mine at Yellowstone. You shouldn't be allowed to mine in the Boundary Waters.
Republicans are trying to sell out our most pristine waters to a foreign mining corporation.
NO.
I’m holding the Senate floor tonight in protest of legislation that would allow a copper-nickel sulfide mine on the doorstep of the Boundary Waters.
Not this mine. Not this place. https://t.co/DNcKJodJN6
The MN House just voted (unanimously) to rename our state’s solar program in honor of Melissa Hortman, who created it.
Here's a snippet of her remarks from when the program passed in 2013. It was one of her proudest accomplishments. It’s more than fitting it be named after her.
Trump said we had to attack Iran because we can‘t allow it “to have a nuclear weapon.” Really?
This is the same president who, in June, said: “Iran’s nuclear facilities have been obliterated.”
Vietnam. Iraq. Iran. Another lie. Another war.
