Opinion | Joe Kent, Professor Jiang, and the empire’s cognitive warfare machine
More and more people are finally seeing through the carefully constructed masks. What looks like bold dissent is often something far more calculated.
>>>>>
•Cognitive warfare is not crude propaganda It deliberately shapes what people are allowed to think and feel. Identify real popular anger (endless wars, elite corruption, economic decline), insert authentic-sounding critics, let them gain trust with partial truths, then slowly redirect that energy so it never threatens the system’s foundations.
•The method of limited opposition Controlled voices never attack the structural pillars — financial control, energy dominance, the permanent national-security state, or the empire’s right to set global rules. Blame is shifted to convenient scapegoats. The result is a safety valve: people feel they are resisting while staying safely inside permitted boundaries.
•Joe Kent: The insider who never left the building Two decades in the Rangers, Special Forces, and CIA paramilitary operations. Senior counterterrorism role under Trump. Dramatic resignation timed to unpopular moments. He delivers the “no more endless wars” message while carefully protecting the larger imperial framework and the legitimacy of the security state that produced him. This is repositioning, not rupture.
•Professor Jiang: Manufactured credentials and the long game Born in Guangdong, raised in Canada, Yale English literature graduate. Early involvement with U.S.-funded projects on Chinese labour. A dramatic (and highly useful) alleged arrest story circulated to build Western credibility as a “China dissent voice.” The long-term pattern: invest early in alternative voices, cultivate audiences hungry for critiques of American decline, keep the asset available for broader deployment when needed.
•The broader containment network Nick Fuentes, Alex Jones, and a rotating cast of similar figures follow the same functional logic. They capture segments of the discontented, validate selected grievances, and keep the conversation circulating inside parameters the system can absorb. Diversified portfolio of managed outlets that neutralize genuine threats.
•Why the technique works — and why it matters now It exploits the human need for coherent explanation when official institutions lose credibility. Partial revelations create the sensation of awakening while preventing that awakening from becoming dangerous. As the United States struggles to maintain energy, financial, and military primacy, the information space has become a critical battlefield. Managed revelation and contained rage are the empire’s modern specialties.
Sovereignty cannot be restored by elevating recycled intelligence officers, viral lecturers carrying old colour-revolution baggage, or professional provocateur personalities who stay inside the permitted script. The actors change. The technique does not.

12-year-old Palestinian YouTuber Awni Al-Dous, who dreamed of reaching 100,000 subscribers, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
Last year, he celebrated reaching 1,000 subscribers with this joy.
🇵🇸 This morning activists attempted to retake a Palestinian house stolen by the settlers near Bethlehem in the West Bank.
They removed the Israeli flags the settlers set up on the building and replaced them with Palestinian ones. In response, settler-terrorists fired live ammunition at the activists.
Israeli army supported the settlers and expelled the rightful landowners from the land.
@itsolelehmann Wrong way to look at it. AI economics are broken. There isn't enough compute available for customers to use the latest models freely, so they end up rugging the customers. Let's see what happens when Anthropic and Open AI don't have enough cash to subsidize token burn any more.
So odd it reminded me that few weeks ago UAE transfered military equipment to Iraq ... without any mention of the reason of these flights... this story smells false flag
Why would the Four Seasons hotel openly and shamelessly host an indicted fugitive from justice (wanted for crimes against humanity) in its dining room, publicly giving him VIP treatment, even as he continues to command an ongoing genocide?
The owners of the Four Seasons are Cascade investment, owned by Bill Gates, whose Microsoft corporation has been deeply complicit in and profiting from Israeli apartheid and genocide, and the Kingdom Holding Company, the principal owner of which is Saudi Prince and long-time Trump ally Alwaleed bin Talal. Companies collaborating with the Zionist genocide are the modern equivalents of IG Farben, the company that collaborated with and profited from the Nazi genocides more than 85 years ago. This is what complicity looks like today. They must be held accountable.
@Pataramesh It wasn't a preemptive strike to diminish the scale of the US-Saudi strike on the PMF in Iraq? Or signal that escalation would come if the strikes were large scale
I would not place much confidence in the spreading narrative that “America has depleted its munitions stockpile”. This is psychological warfare, and deception and disinformation are integral to it.
Remember how Israeli media circulated claims that the army lacked tanks and spare parts shortly before the attack on Lebanon.
Do not fall for the same tactic twice. Treat every such claim with the highest degree of scepticism, particularly when it conveniently advertises an adversary’s supposed weakness.
The US leadership believes whenever Iran scores a hit on something big, it's luck, or it's cause of help from Russia or China
Their racist world view blinds them from the strength of their opponent
The US has already lost this war
Germany and Britain are evacuating their diplomats from Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The US has advised its citizens to leave the Middle East region. A lot of indications that massive escalations are being prepared.
