@KaitlynKokal @MrsBHolden I love the idea of having them evaluate the validity of sources. You could even use AI to create fake pictures or articles and help them spot what is untrue.
@PEwithCoachJC @MrsBHolden Those are great ideas, especially with fad diets and influencers. Hopefully being able to spot those things will help them not fall for the "trap" of fads and challenges.
@MrsBHolden I do this by tying in research projects during writing to get students looking up information from multiple sources and reading multiple texts.
@MrsBHolden We can teach them to pause before clicking and not to share identifiable information. I can teach students how to be critical and question the information they read to determine the validity. A lot of this work would have to be done through me modeling or guiding. #ConnectIn5
@PEwithCoachJC @MrsBHolden I do like having a social media account strictly for education reasons! My personal account is such a mix, but it would be nice to keep them separate so I can just see school stuff what I want to.
@AMayKinderGoals @MrsBHolden What social media do you use to share these things with your families? I feel like I'm a slacker and could do better on this! I just have my newsletter and Classdojo
@MrsFarrellFIVE @MrsBHolden That is my favorite part as well. I am able to essentially step into someone else's classroom to gain more ideas and strategies that relate to what I do or a need I have.
@MrsBHolden I started seeing videos on social media of people using Canva resources and wanted to learn, but was overwhelmed with the amount of “things” on Canva. I used hashtags to help find articles, videos, and resources to learn about Canva and how to create on Canva. #ConnectIn5
Really enjoyed listening to the podcast Educational Duck Tape! The conversation felt light and easy to follow. I especially appreciated how resources and articles were shared! Looking forward to more episodes like this! #connectin5
