Always a pleasure to have World Champion Freestyle Rapper, poet, storyteller and songwriter- Rob Bradley in school. Working with Year 7, today we talked about rhymes and rhythms, passion and confidence. Some great performances from our pupils at the end. Thanks Rob 🙏🎵🎤✍️

Very proud of pupil Eve P, who this week competed in the penultimate round of the ESU Performing Shakespeare Competition, where she performed as Lady Macbeth. Unfortunately she hasn’t made the final at The Globe, but received some fantastic feedback and we are really proud 🥹 😊

Today was the start of our month long - Read for Daniel. All pupils we be reading 20 minutes a day in memory of Daniel and to raise money for @macmillancancer . Donations and sponsorship can be given via Parent Pay or the just giving link below 😊💚📚

A fantastic poetry workshop yesterday as part of a Holmfirth response to the Marsden Tenterhooks collaboration with Simon Armitage. Matt Abbott used Simon’s poems as prompts to inspire writing about Holmfirth! ✍️

Earlier this week two of our pupils Temi and Eve attended the regional heat of the English Speaking Union Shakespeare competition. Both girls were amazing, up against stiff competition. Very proud to announce that Eve has made it through to the regional final! Well done Eve 🎉

Year 8 today were treated to a trip to the Bridgewater Hall to hear The Hallé live. On World Book Day pupils explored a range of music inspired by classic texts. A fantastic time was had by all 🎶🎵🎼
