@ShakinthatChalk Show me kids who ‘survived’ school independently as nobody has ever been championing them at home but still come out with a pass any day. Those are the kids who deserve recognition 💯
@kateowbridge I am paid this and the amount of people who say to me ‘you must have nothing to do when the schools are closed’ is unreal. So many people don’t understand the SENDCo role, even when working in education
@Headteacherchat I’m sure you’re amazing but please dip your toe in the setting first. Secondary is definitely not for everyone… just as some amazing teachers say they could never face the challenges of EYFS
@Headteacherchat I’m non QTS so I’m aware my point is probably not worth anything but… it’s like a whole new world/job/experience. My jump from primary to secondary was eye-opening, I couldn’t imagine leading a stage I wasn’t familiar with……
I wonder how many clinical psychologists and psychiatrists come from UK working class backgrounds? Any ideas? I suspect not too many.
I do believe that in the UK, class background plays a major role in psychology and psychiatry.
