HIWYA, in partnership with UNICEF Kenya, conducted a youth forum in Rhamu to address GBV. This forum aimed to empower youth with knowledge and skills to recognise, prevent and respond to GBV while fostering gender equality and challenging harmful practices.

HIWYA in Partnership with UNICEF conducted community conversation in Yabicho to address discriminatory social and gender norms that perpetuates harmful practices such as FGM. A dialogue for transforming attitudes and behaviours towards gender equality and abandonment of FGM.

HIWYA in Partnership with UNICEF conducted a sensitisation workshop for religious leaders in Rhamu. The aim of the activity was to raise awareness on how to promote the prevention and response to GBV and FGM. They hold significant influence in the community as opinion shapers.

HIWYA in Partnership with Unicef Kenya conducted an engagement session with 150 Traditional birth attendants(TBA) in Rhamu. Aimed to equip TBAs with knowledge about the harmful effects of FGM on Women and girls. Emphasising their critical role in advocating against the practice.

HIWYA in partnership with UNICEF, a mass walk in Mdr town to achieve.
1. Raising awareness about the rights of the girl child and the need for community action against GBV and FGM.
2. Encouraging dialogue among community members on the importance of investing in girl's education.

HIWYA in partnership with UNICEF Kenya organized football tournament interspered with education session on GBV and FGM. The Youth were empowered with knowledge on the prevention and response to this issues.

Habiba International with support from Unicef Kenya conducted school mentorship program that offers CSE, Life skills and training on prevention and response to FTM to boys and girls in Bulla Haji and Burabor Primary schools.

In partnership with UNICEF Kenya, Habiba International Women and Youth Affairs(HIWYA) organised media cafes to train journalists and supported media houses to periodically report FGM and GBV issues in print ànd television stations.

HIWYA in partnership with UNICEF Kenya held a capacity building training for school managers and teachers to enhance teaching on FGM prevention, health risk and human rights violations associated with FGM in Mandera town.

Atalk show was conducted by HIWYA in partnership with UNICEF Kenya aimed to foster a comprehensive understanding of FGM and GBV, Promote dialogue for cultural change and mobilize community effort to eradicate the practice. In attendance was a religious leader and medical officer.

Hosted interactive media cafe session where journalists received specialised training on the complexities and sensitivity of reporting on FGM. Media houses were encouraged to establish regular reporting focused on FGM, ensuring ongoing coverage and heightened public awareness.

HIWYA in partnership with UNICEF Kenya formed, sensitised and distributed sanitary pads to Anti-FGM clubs in 10 schools in Mandera East Sub-County. This was meant to disseminate Anti FGM messages to the entire school communities.
