@AlexoV2@i24NEWS_EN@Maydhalaalis@_BiancaZanini You are the devil from Somalia. You live under a failed, corrupt government led by thieves and liars, a government that has made little to no progress over the past 20 years despite receiving billions in funding. Qushasha...
I guess we’ve come to accept the status quo for Somali Kenyans and Somali Ethiopians in the same way we’ve accepted Djibouti. It’s time to let go—we’re never going back to the 1960–1980 period. We need to accept the reality on the ground so that people in Somalia can wake up, smell the coffee, focus on unity, and start thinking more strategically, so those around them don’t take advantage of them or end up influencing them too heavily.
I don’t agree with you about being fearful for all Somalis. The place we should be concerned about is Somalia itself. I’m actually optimistic that the other regions are relatively protected and have a clearer vision for their future. It’s those who still hold onto pan-Somalism and remain stuck in the past who need to wake up. They’re too focused on old ideas and internal struggles while overlooking realities like Somaliland. Somaliland is gone, just like the other three.
I wish a leader from Somalia would come forward and say, “enough is enough—let’s move forward,” just like the Czech Republic and Slovakia did in the 1990s. Maybe it sounds like a dream, but I’m convinced we will never reunite again, and the sooner politicians in the south accept that, the better it will be for everyone.
I understand your point as well—that experiences and expectations have diverged, and that should be respected. Your perspective is shaped by your worldview and how you see history connecting past and future. But from where I stand, while I respect that view, I don’t share the same level of fear for all Somalis as a whole.
I understand where you’re coming from, and I respect your perspective. We can all look back at the past with nostalgia and remember what once was, but we also have to be honest about today’s realities.
The truth is, we cannot simply recreate what existed before. Times have changed, generations have changed, and experiences have shaped people in very different ways. Those who were born after the 1990s and grew up in Somaliland have lived a completely different reality—one that has formed their identity, their expectations, and their vision for the future.
If we are realistic, many people from that generation do not connect with the idea of reunification in the same way older generations might. Even if a referendum were held, it is very likely that a large majority would choose to maintain the current path rather than reverse it. That’s not something we can ignore it’s something we have to acknowledge and understand.
Rather than remaining stuck in debates about the past, perhaps it is more productive to focus on what we can build now and for the future. Our responsibility is not to recreate history, but to create stability, opportunity, and prosperity for our children and grandchildren.
Accepting reality does not mean abandoning values—it means adapting to circumstances so we can move forward in a way that benefits our people. Whether that future is together or separate, it must be based on the will of the people and a clear understanding of the present.
At the end of the day, what matters most is peace, development, and dignity for all. Let’s focus our energy on achieving those goals instead of holding onto something that may no longer be possible.

“Somaliland dalal badan ayaa maanta cadaawad u muujiyey, Jabuuti iyo Somaliya waxa aan u sheegayaa in ay ixtiraamaan nabadda iyo deris wanaaga..." Madaxweynaha JSL
I have arrived in Athens this morning to attend the Athens Defence Summit, where Somaliland’s participation reflects its growing role in international strategic and security dialogue.
I announced today the official recognition of the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state.
Together with Foreign Minister Sa'ar and the President of the Republic of Somaliland, we signed a joint and mutual declaration.
This declaration is in the spirit of the Abraham Accords, signed at the initiative of President Trump.
I congratulated the President of Somaliland, Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdallah, and praised his leadership and commitment to promoting stability and peace. I invited the President to pay an official visit to Israel.
The President thanked me for this historic declaration and expressed appreciation for my achievements in fighting terrorism and advancing regional peace.
I thank Foreign Minister Sa’ar, the Head of Mossad David Barnea and the Mossad, for their contribution to today’s development, and I wish the people of Somaliland success, prosperity, and freedom.
The State of Israel plans to immediately expand its relations with the Republic of Somaliland through extensive cooperation in the fields of agriculture, health, technology, and economy.
