The UK #Deaf community is desperately hoping that Sir @Keir_Starmer will be standing beside a #BSL interpreter when he addresses the nation for the first time today.
@BDA_Deaf has an interpreter ready and waiting outside No. 10.
Please work with them!
Is this ‘ok’? What is wrong with being deaf, we have our own language, community and culture. Should we worry?? The future? And shared on Happy Deaf Awareness week! A thought https://t.co/NJ0gMqk26Z

It’s still happening since 1880! Now AVT is going around and taking away BSL from Deaf child and their family. Sadly! @BDA_Deaf @BBCNews https://t.co/tdHIgmh74y

Sad, confused and upset that the @NDCS_UK have excluded me as a person born profoundly deaf and publish a story about a boy who lost his hearing aged three due to meningitis. My family and I have fund raised for a long time for the NDCS and I feel very disappointed. @SusanNDCS
Totally agree! Every parents of deaf child should learn BSL for free! A child with 2 or more languages have many greatest benefits. Imagine a deaf child who are bilingual in BSL and English! How awesome its this? Thanks for sharing Tilly! And Katie!
Tilly has nailed this! She is amazing. My heart breaks for all the families who can’t give that option to their child as they can’t afford to learn and teach their deaf child BSL. This must change. I will fight and fight for this! @GillianKeegan @david4wantage #communication
