The book that predicted Hezbollah’s eventual demise is titled Hizbullah: A Mission to Nowhere (published in 2019 by Lexington Books). Khashan argues that Hezbollah fundamentally lacks an actionable or sustainable political mission and has no genuine intellectual scope.
The war in Iran is part of this broader effort to open the way for an Israel-centered Middle East order. Yet, as Israel’s power grows, alarm is spreading within Turkey and Arab nations – including those with official ties to Israel – which view genuine coexistence with Israel as unrealistic without equality or respect for regional boundaries.
