@HMCGTayside along with our helicopter, @RNLI & assisted by @TaysidePolice & @ScotambSORT were tasked last night to reports of a person in the water. Unfortunately following an intensive search, a deceased male was recovered at West Ferry. Our thoughts go out to his family.
Coastguard officers in Dundee were called yesterday to jet skiers in difficulty in the vicinity of the Tay Rail Bridge. Both were promptly located and with assistance from @RNLI Broughty Ferry, towed back to safety and given safety advice.
Officers in Dundee have today been tasked to a couple of incidents in both Dundee and Broughty Ferry with assistance from @RNLI Broughty Ferry. Thankfully both incidents were brought to safe conclusions without any injuries. #StaySafe
Earlier today officers from Dundee were tasked to investigate a deer that may have become trapped with the incoming tide at Riverside Dr. With assistance from @DNDAirport fire service, a young fawn was located and escorted to safe ground.
Officers from Dundee were tasked on Tuesday to a report of youths possibly in distress in Invergowrie Bay floating on what appeared to be plywood. The area was searched & through investigation, it was found the youths in question were safely ashore. False alarm with good intent
Officers from Arbroath & Dundee we’re tasked yesterday to reports of a suspicious object near Barry. It was located and thought to be an old 50kg bomb. It was guarded by officers until saftely detonated this morning by @RoyalNavy EOD officers
On two separate occasions today, Dundee Coastguard officers were tasked to a yacht possibly in difficulty in the Tay estuary. The vessel was safely towed into Tayport harbour by B/Ferry @RNLI to awaiting Coastguard & @policescotland officers.
Dundee Coastguard officers were today tasked to Broughty Ferry to a broken down jet ski. It was safely towed to the harbour by @RNLI ILB where following safety advice we handed over to @TaysidePolice officers regarding breaching lockdown procedures.
At around 0430hrs this morning, CRO’s from Dundee were tasked to assist @TaysidePolice and @Scotambservice Scotland rescue a female who had fallen into the Tay at Riverside Drive. On our arrival she had been safely recovered into medical care.
Approx 0640hrs this morning, Coastguard Rescue Officers we’re tasked to a yacht aground at Broughty Ferry. Swiftly confirming that no persons were at risk or missing and it had simply broken its mooring, it was secured until high tide & its owner made aware.
CRO’s along with @RNLI Arbroath today rescued a boat that had lost power/steering just off Arbroath. The vessel was towed back to harbour & two people safely brought ashore.
CRO’s along with colleagues from @Scotambservice, @RNLI Arbroath and R951 rescued a female who had fallen at the cliffs in Arbroath on Wednesday. She was airlifted to Ninewells due to her location and thankfully her injury’s were not beloved to be serious. #999Coastguard
Local CRO’s and the inshore lifeboat from Broughty Ferry we’re tasked earlier today to reports of an unknown object in the River Tay. The item was promptly located identified as innocent & brought ashore to avoid further calls. False alarm with good intent.
CROs today along with @TaysidePolice, @fire_scot, @RNLI & @Scotambservice were involved in an operation in Carnoustie where there were reports of discovery of a body in the water.
