After a two-month break, I’m back on Twitter today with a fresh perspective and renewed motivations
Sometimes, taking a pause is necessary. It allows you to reassess your path, learn new things, and rebuild your energy. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing over the past two month
On the final day of the Community of Practice (CoP) workshop, which coincided with International Human Rights Day, the Centre commemorated the occasion with a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony and formally marked the launch of the Sub-Regional PVE Community of Practice, reaffirming the centrality of human rights-based and inclusive approaches to preventing and countering violent extremism. #Brace4Peace #CoP4PCVE
According to the @UN, youth well‑being, participation and empowerment are key drivers of sustainable development and global peace.
In Somalia, where more than 70% of the population is young, youth are a powerful force for state‑ and peace‑building, social transformation and development.
To unlock this potential and to ensure young people are well represented in political and decision‑making processes, more investment is required in education, decent jobs, civic space, and youth‑led initiatives.
In his closing remarks at the Sub-Regional PVE Community of Practice Workshop, Centre Director @DrKinyanjui conveyed the IGAD Executive Secretary’s @DrWorkneh regards and reminded participants that the small but powerful actions they take each day in advancing peace and PCVE efforts, when combined through collective action, however modest, are what strengthen institutions, communities, and the region as a whole.#Brace4Peace #CoP4PCVE

The 3 day meeting between the Ministry of Petroleum & Minerals (FGS) and State Ministries has concluded with a strong consensus.
We reaffirmed the primacy of national unity, constitutional cooperation, and collective decision-making in managing Somalia’s petroleum and mineral resources.
All parties committed to coordinated action, rejecting fragmentation, and ensuring our natural resources are developed transparently, responsibly, and in the supreme interest of the Somali people.
During difficult and critical times, IGAD Ambassadors through their engagement with Regional and Continental bodies, facilitate back channel diplomacy to manage new developments, and are often the first line of defense against miscommunication and misunderstanding.
Their insights and advice from the ‘field’ to Leadership in their respective Capitals is critical in finding home-grown solutions to our common problems.
We are grateful for their service, and thankful to the Wisdom and Patience of our Leadership, as we navigate together an increasingly complex Geopolitical Environment.

“The world does not change when better leaders step back. It changes when better leaders step forward with courage, humility, and purpose.”
Hon. @CrystalAsige, Nominated Senator, Republic of Kenya, speaking at the IGAD Leadership Academy Alumni Conference in Nairobi
Africa stands at a decisive moment, and it will be moved forward by leaders who choose responsibility and action over hesitation. True leadership is proven not by position, but by the courage to serve when the moment demands it.
Today in Nairobi, alongside former President of the Republic of Kenya H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, we launched the IGAD Leadership Academy Alumni Network, igniting a new chapter where conviction is turned into action and leadership is sustained across borders.
Through this Network, alumni will rise together in mentorship, dialogue, and collective action for peace, good governance, and regional integration. IGAD stands with you as you lead with purpose, serve with courage, and shape the future of our region.
Congratulations, @AmbGamal ,
on your appointment as the Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia.
This well-deserved appointment reflects your leadership, experience, and commitment to national development.
