For Remembrance Day, prisoners taking part in our social enterprise program have worked together to create poppies to decorate a local memorial garden. This annual tradition is one of the ways prisoners give back to our community.

Staff at HMP Durham do extraordinary things. As a Category B prison, we serve 10 Crown Courts & 23 Magistrates' Courts so justice can be delivered without interruption. To show our appreciation, our excellent Chaplaincy team provided hot drinks & homemade brownies ☕

In December, our brilliant PEIs ran a Christmas-themed CrossFit challenge, with incredible engagement from staff and prisoners throughout the month.

Staff and prisoners have taken the Angel of the North on a (theoretical) road trip from her home in Gateshead to Durham and back! In a two-hour circuit, 12 participants moved 208 tonnes over 27 miles. In doing so, they've raised an incredible £1,000 (and counting) for @ChildrenNE
Prisoners at HMP Durham have created these brilliant poppies for Framwellgate Moor's memorial garden. This is the fourth year prisoners engaged in our social enterprise programme have contributed to this touching community project—well done to all involved.

We have partnered with Terry Anderson, owner and coach at CrossFit All Out, to deliver training sessions focused on wellbeing, fitness, and long-term support.
These sessions help prisoners gain the skills to reduce reoffending and reintegrate successfully into their communities.

Recently, @Novuschange hosted an exhibition in the chapel to educate prisoners about Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month. Prisoners also learned about diversity and inclusion, British values, and the principles of teamwork, communication, self-management, and presentation.
