@EbThen A while back (15 years ago) I did a course on neuro development. One thing that stuck with me was that there are a number of DXs in the DSM that just aren't considered a problem in many other countries/cultures.

True for some of us, not all of us.

@autistictic Supporting offspring who has selective mutism became MUCH easier once they learned to write & got their own smart device to aid their communication

Even that is a struggle when they are SUPER stressed

Then all forms of communication freeze

Letting them be is the best remedy

Other offspring & I struggle 2 follow regular speech when stressed

Inevitably all 3 of us R stressed @ the same time & miscommunication is rife
