Great to talk to @zeitonline about humanitarian journalism and how we can improve reporting on disasters. Thanks so much for the thought provoking conversation (& translation!) Andrea Böhm
Our latest insight report is a snapshot from a new book by @martinscott2010 @meljbunce & @newsprof1, which argues for a more humanitarian journalism, caring less about how 'newsworthy' a crisis is and more about the scale of suffering.

EVENT at the @frontlineclub on Jan 30th: what crisis get reported, and why? And how can reporting be improved? Sharing a new report from @careintuk and a new book on 'Humanitarian Journalism' by @martinscott2010 @newsprof1 @meljbunce https://t.co/hUAkHmrZx9
Important new book alert! "Humanitarian Journalists" from @martinscott2010 @newsprof1 & @meljbunce is out. It looks at the journalists who report on international crises, and the factors influencing their work. It is open access and free to download here: https://t.co/rKanwxlh0o
The book explores the work of a small, specialist group of humanitarian journalists do things differently from conventional reporters. They occupy a space between the worlds of journalism and the field of humanitarian action. And this shapes the news they make.
Wonderful to be in Rome for the Humanitarian Congress @Intersos - I’m speaking later today about what makes the news and the influence of journalism on humanitarian action.
So excited to see the details up for our new book, ‘Humanitarian Journalists’ -coming out 11th Jan 2023. It's a deep dive into the journalists who report on international crises and how we can best understand and support them @martinscott2010 @newsprof1 https://t.co/K3o2GhzbSn
Can't quite believe we managed to submit this, after the last two years! The book should be out in December. I am immensely grateful for wonderful co authors and friends @martinscott2010 and @newsprof1 who make so much happen
