@AmazonKDP @awssupport I’ve been told that Amazon KDP timing out when processing large manuscripts at times of increased traffic could be because their solution does not do autoscaling. Is there any way this can be fixed (presume they use AWS)?

[H.O. Charles @HOCharles]

@AmazonKDP Hi. Is there an issue with processing print files tonight? I've uploaded my files four or five times but KDP keeps getting stuck with processing before failing. It's just a very slightly altered iteration of an existing book, so no reason it should fail my end. Ta

@AmazonKDP Update: whereas previously a 270MB photobook would process smoothly, this has not been possible over the last two days. I reduced my file size to 120MB and it seems to have gone through just now. This is in spite of KDP advertised limit of 650MB.

@SoVeryBritish Possibly had an obsession with caves as I thought the Smashing Pumpkins one went “despite all my rage I am still just ready to cave.” Guess he wanted to go spelunking to manage his anger?

[H.O. Charles @HOCharles]

@SoVeryBritish Nirvana “I’m in a cave… I can’t complain.” I just thought they really liked being in caves.

@derfdj2 @SoVeryBritish Mine was a variation of this, which was “comedy Cheryl Baker”

One of several cover design mock-ups that didn’t quite make it! 😆

@140Gordy @namesilo @Cloudflare I’ve just discovered my books are advertised as being on these sites, violating DMCA. Is the content on there or are the sites just phishing for sign ups?

Unsolicited review of The Witcher Season 2 (or Series 2, if you're a local person in a local shop) from the PoV of a book author.

@JENNIFE60819496 They have many years of their careers ahead of them to do even better. I look forward to seeing what they do next…

Dear #england fan Twitter, please pleasantly surprise me by showing support for Saka, Rashford and Sancho and not being at all mean. It’s been a great tournament, in any case. Thank you.

[H.O. Charles @HOCharles]

Very heartened this morning by the huge show of support for Rashford, Saka and Sancho. Best England team in half a century, with many years left to achieve even more. I am still totally blown away by them and how few goals were conceded #euro2020

@jeremy_hume Ferrier was arrested. Unsure if she was fined. Agree that the hypocrisy is unacceptable. Would also argue that the harshest of lockdowns have failed to save more lives/life years than weaker lockdowns. But we are limited by hospital capacity/staffing. Balanced response not easy.

[H.O. Charles @HOCharles]

This is the trade-off made when schools are closed. Abstracting data to the UK (clumsily by pop size) - the 1st lockdown meant 1 million life years lost to British kids. #lockdownproblems #teachingunions #boris #covid #variant
