Visited Ajman-based Al Arab Himalaya Trading LLC, importer and distributor of Nepali products in the UAE. It was great to see the store filled with freshly arrived cardboard packs of merchandise from Nepal and display of nearly 150 Nepali products......1/2

Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Mr Shisir Khanal received a telephone call from His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates this evening.

On the occasion, His Highness extended hearty congratulations to the Hon. Foreign Minister, who, in response, expressed sincere appreciation for the warm message.

During the conversation, the two Ministers exchanged views on the situation in West Asia. The Hon. Foreign Minister expressed Nepal’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and strongly condemned attacks on its sovereign territory, including those targeting civilians and key infrastructures such as energy facilities, ports, and airports. The Foreign Minister further referred to the tragic death of a young Nepali citizen and injuries sustained by other 24 Nepali nationals.

The Hon. Minister emphasised that war can never be an alternative to peace and that lasting peace can only be achieved through diplomacy and dialogue. While offering all necessary support to the Nepali community in UAE in the context of the conflict, His Highness expressed sincere appreciation to the Government of Nepal and the Hon. Foreign Minister for their solidarity during this difficult time and reaffirmed the UAE Government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents, including Nepali nationals.

Hon. Mr Shisir Khanal assumed office as the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal today.

Foreign Secretary Mr Amrit Bahadur Rai and senior officials warmly welcomed the Hon. Minister at the Ministry. The Foreign Secretary briefed the Hon. Minister on the work of the Ministry and assured him of their continued dedication and commitment in carrying out responsibilities under his leadership.

Upon assuming office, the newly appointed Minister took a decision to expand the online system of the Department of Consular Services to ensure more efficient and effective service delivery.

The Hon. Minister also instructed the MoFA team to work in a more innovative and impactful manner, in line with the aspirations of the people.
