Hypatia of Alexandria (c. 370–415 AD) was a pioneering female mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. She is renowned for her work on conic sections and her role as a prominent educator in Alexandria. Tragically, Hypatia was murdered by a mob in 415 AD, leading to the loss of many of her contributions.
