What sucks about Vivek is he at least WANTS to be good, he just has zero idea how. He's tried hiring young executives, experienced ones, he's pivoted to Perry who's been around forever, he's tried young assistant coaches, veteran coaches, hometown heroes, everything.

Eric Bledsoe and Klutch had a pretty messy RFA. Bledsoe wound up with 5 years, $70 million, which was still a lot at that time (22% of the cap AAV).

The way this usually goes is that Peyton's going to get paid more than Denver wants and less than Peyton wants, but it usually leans a little more towards what the player wants. There will be hurt feelings that will probably mean this is the last contract he signs in Denver but if he was UFA he'd already be gone even if they wanted to pay him whatever to keep him.
