After 16 years with @HSESchools, my last day will be Feb 28. I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles—teacher, coach, union rep, indoor air quality coordinator, & energy management director. In March, I’ll begin as Senior Products & Services Specialist at Duke Energy.
❤️ Happy Valentine's Day! Today, I gave the gift of life by donating blood, hitting 11.5 gallons of lifetime donations. 🩸 Every drop counts, and you can help save a life too! Consider donating blood and making a difference.
@HSESchools is featured in a blog by @Gen_180, highlighting our sustainability initiatives & solar journey. Renewable energy & sustainability education is alive in Indiana! We're saving millions over 20 years, all while empowering 21,000+ students. https://t.co/SxXLCkAUKF
Duke Energy's rate increase has been approved, which could raise your monthly bill by $20. Energy efficiency upgrades and changing habits can help reduce the impact, but expect higher bills.
Great day connecting with fellow school officials through IASBO! I had the chance to present my insights on energy efficiency & solar energy. 🌱🔋 Hope this sparks more schools to adopt sustainable practices—helping Indiana be greener & more responsible with taxpayer dollars!
Thanks to you, this year's Holiday Light Recycling Drive was a shining success! ✨ Together, we recycled 2,749 pounds of unwanted or broken holiday lights!
FUN FACT: Since starting this initiative in 2020, HSE has recycled 17,820 pounds (8.91 tons) of lights – equivalent to a 40-foot shipping container! Your dedication not only supports our environment but also inspires our students to make sustainable choices. 💚 @HSEsavingenergy
It's often the little things make life so rewarding. Recently, I had the privilege of speaking to a class about energy, electricity, & renewables. A few days later, I received this thoughtful note & it honestly made my day.
Grateful for the opportunity to inspire & be inspired.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Holiday Light Recycling Drive! Thanks to your efforts, we recycled 2,749 lbs of unwanted lights, helping avoid 17,820 lbs (8.91 tons) of waste since 2020. @HSESchools & @FishersIN being sustainable!
I am 1/2 way through the HCLA & I’m already seeing tremendous value in this experience! The program is educational & enriching, with incredible networking opportunities. It's helping me become a more effective & productive. I highly recommend this experience to anyone!
Curious about HCLA? Want to learn more about the Hamilton County Leadership Academy, our community impact, and what we’re looking for in the Class of 2026?

Energy bills can be higher this time of year when we use more energy to keep our homes comfortable. With more single digit temps forecast, make plans for the elderly and those with special medical needs in case of outages during very cold weather. https://t.co/5dSqJMyUkL
Hamilton County Master Gardeners invite you to the 2025 Central Indiana Seed Swap! Due to heavy construction at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds, the venue is being moved, for this year, to the Tipton County Fairgrounds. 1200 S. Main St. Tipton, Indiana. https://t.co/3Ew4SJRPQE
The Holiday Light Recycling Drive is ending! This year we filled 4 totes with unwanted or broken holiday lights. Since 2020 @HSESchools@FishersIN have helped prevent nearly 8 tons of plastic, metal, and glass from being discarded. Thank you to everyone who has participated!
I was working with a 4 grade class. Students used real-life data to connect math, science, graphing, & prediction skills. They reviewed @DukeEnergy bills & made predictions about future usage-something I do for my job! What skills do you perform that could help inspire students?
🌟 As you start to take down your holiday lights, remember that HSE Schools is recycling unwanted and broken lights! 🎄💡 Drop them off at any of our buildings until January 15th. Let’s keep the spirit of giving alive by keeping our community green! ♻️ #HolidayLightsRecycling
Jan is Radon Awareness Month. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. In Indiana, 1 in 3 homes have radon levels above EPA action levels.
To raise awareness I am asking students to participate in Radon poster Contest.

🔌 Unplug devices when not in use. Holiday lights, chargers, and decorations can add up!
🌟 Switch to LED lights for your tree and decorations—they use less energy and last longer.
🌡️ Lower the thermostat a few degrees when you're out or entertaining guests.
As we celebrate the season, let's not forget to be mindful of our energy usage! The holidays are a time for warmth, family, & cheer, but they can also lead to increased energy consumption. Here are a few simple tips to reduce energy waste and help our planet:
