Today, we pause to honour the children taken from their homes, their families, and their cultures.
We remember. We reflect. We recommit to the work of reconciliation.

This week across Halton with @haltonpolice & all Halton Mayors, we unveiled purple benches in recognition of Woman Abuse Prevention Month. These benches, part of the Barb's Benches Project, sends a message of solidarity to those facing abuse.
Today, my motion passed to declare gender-based violence and intimate partner violence an epidemic.
Thanks to advocates and front-line organizations for their leadership on this vital issue, and for joining us at City Hall today.
Thank you @MayorOliviaChow for appealing to City Council to declare gender-based and intimate partner violence an epidemic in Toronto!
The @cityoftoronto acknowledgment of these issues is a significant step towards addressing them.
