Templo de Santo Domingo is one of the most impressive structures in San Cristobal de las Casas. Admire the imposing Baroque-style building, explore the ornate interior, decorated with intricate gold leaf reliefs and figures.
Its preparation required the cultural virtues & wisdom of the women who made the pozol on their grinding stones. Along the famous water routes, through the jungle areas & on the royal roads of the Mexican southeast, the indigenous traveler carried corn tortillas & pozol as food.
Have you ever tried pozol? Pozol is a pre-hispanic drink, made from raw cacao and maiz (corn), traditional to Chiapas and the southernmost regions of Mexico.
Pozol is served to quench thirst.
We're making magic happen in San Cris! Here are some behind the scenes of our wonderful team, making our vision come to life. Hacienda Valentino wouldn't be possible without them, and we'd like to share our build journey along the way.

Hacienda Valentino is one of only a few properties with full-grown Cyprus trees. We’ve worked to not only preserve the trees but to include them in the design of our rooms. Step into a unique experience you won't forget 🌳
