🇯🇵 Japan — Codmon, the nursery app, SUSPENDED for emergency maintenance
🇯🇵 Japan — national cyber office demanded action "as quickly as possible"
🇯🇵 Japan — Tokyo police cyber unit WARNED every PHP site to be ready for the 23:00 fix
🇺🇸 USA — Cloudflare CTO: "We are seeing early attacks emerging"
🇺🇸 USA — Cloudflare: MASSIVE stopgap firewall rollout, free customers included
🇺🇸 USA — EVERY WordPress site exposed (the LARGEST site builder in the entire world, 40%+ of the internet)

AFTERMATH:
2 critical flaws leaked before the fix, CVSS 9.2 out of 10 on both
Every PHP site at risk (69.3% of websites run on PHP)
1,300,000+ internet-exposed hosts likely vulnerable
Games, shops and hosting suspended across Japan in ONE DAY
Mass attacks expected within 15 minutes of the patch

One Hacker News post triggered this a day before the fix.
The leak made sure everyone around PHP paid the price.

This is not a one-country crisis.
This is the beginning of something much bigger.

Une des vulnérabilités PHP les plus critiques d'Internet a été découverte avec l'IA de chez OpenAI GPT-5.6 Sol... la même d'ailleurs qui s'était échappée de son back à sable, qui s'était connectée toute seule à internet et avait piratée une autre enteprise !

Le pire, c'est que l'IA va aussi aider, hélas, des centaines d'attaquants dans les prochaines heures à pirater des millions de sites internet !

While I was in Goma 🇨🇩 I met people who told me about Miguel, a Congolese cyclist who had set off on journey from Goma to Rabat, cycling for peace.

Sadly, Miguel lost his life before reaching his destination.

As someone who spent 3 years cycling across Africa, his story touched me deeply. I know what it means to have a dream, to get on a bicycle and cross borders with a message you believe in.

Miguel never made it to Rabat, but I would love for us, as a cycling community, to ride the final kilometres of his dream together.

I'm thinking of organizing a tribute ride from Casablanca to Rabat 1st November bringing together cyclists, Moroccans, Congolese and anyone who believes in his message of peace.

He couldn't finish his journey, but we can carry his message forward 🇨🇩🇲🇦
