Very interesting read. Feels important to support and share this book by @HarryNicholas_ - who has a lovely writing style and a way of putting down in writing views and experiences younger LGBT+ people (especially!) will want to read/find and soak up. 🏳️🌈

@itsbenknight @IfJ_Justice I take a moment to go through the mental exercise of considering what's been said, the circs, how I feel & whether I can continue to act. Although some deeply unpleasant things have been said - consciously & inadvertently - it's comments from other lawyers that stayed with me.
4th listing for a Crown Court trial. It was a 5day FIXTURE, with an intermediary booked for whole trial & numerous police witnesses. Not called on until 4pm when it was adjourned due to lack of court to 2024 to a date when defence counsel (instructed throughout) can’t attend.
Ah, the feeling of victory when your cross-examination goes so well that it buys you a half-time submission -- and then it succeeds! Mostly I'm pleased I managed to avoid a vulnerable client having to give evidence.
