A nimby campaign is trying to block a significant development a short walk from Hackney Wick station;
"10 storeys. 280 co-living studios. One chance to object."
Of course, you can also use the details supplied to submit a note of support 👇 https://t.co/KyCd0Hp3ug

Amhurst Road's NatWest Bank now closed, building empty and on the market. Great location directly opposite Hackney Central station.

An application has been submitted for a new @LidlGB store to replace the Jet petrol station on Lower Clapton Road.
This is great news which will bring more footfall to the high-street, but the proposal is underdevelopment and should have multiple floors of housing above.
View from the sky of our Wimbourne Street development as we near completion.
In partnership with the @hackneycouncil, this former garage site is being transformed into 59 new mixed-tenure homes, with a café, play area and greener spaces for the community.

'The party says any Green-run councils would make use of compulsory purchase orders to bring long-term empty shops back into public use.
.., these shops would be leased to small businesses at rates deemed affordable by the council, the party says.' https://t.co/tZMsAUjAxG
@NightingaleE5 I've not heard any timeframe but I noticed a new crew has just started the groundworks (who appear to be using the old Windsor Castle pub next door as temporary offices)

'A planning application for a building next to Hackney’s Moth Club has been refused by Hackney Council. The proposal for six residential flats and a ground floor commercial building.. next to the historic venue would have seriously threatened its future'

Apparently another application has been submitted for the adjacent site.
(The Moth Club has launched a petition opposing the proposals which already has almost 5,500 signatures!)
Update: The planning app to build a 3-storey house to the rear of 119 Church Street has been refused 'due to its size, scale and design harming the Stoke Newington Conservation Area, substandard living space, impact on neighbours, loss of storage space without justification...'
This 4-storey building in Hackney Wick was constructed less than a decade ago and already it is undergoing an upward extension.
Was it really that difficult to foresee the demand for living in this location?

(Bit of confusion whether it closes on the 7th or 9th April)
'Hackney Council has unveiled plans it says will fuel housebuilding and economic growth in one of east London’s most prominent arts and fashion hotspots.' https://t.co/YRvnu92rNG
Turns out an application was submitted in 2023 for a residential development above Boots. Not sure how it progressed. (Via @thedtw_ )
