We started this just before the pandemic... very happy to see this finally online! The uptake of MOFs: a journey into the cell – now published in Chemical Society Reviews https://t.co/a1fOJx0RPe @cebcambridge@UCamEnterprise@LinnaneEmily@HaddadSam @MelleFrancesca
Exciting news to kick off the week - our CSO and his team have made huge progress targeting drug delivery into the mitochondria of cancer cells. We're proud of the whole team working at the cutting edge of this research: https://t.co/3OfWk2HHFt
.@DavidFairen, CSO of p/f company @ImmaterialLtd, and team have demonstrated successful development of a metal–organic framework to target drug delivery to mitochondria of cancer cells, inducing rapid cell death, while drastically reducing the required drug dose. @Robinson_SLO
Mitochondria – the organelles that power cells – often sit at the centre of changes that lead to a cell becoming cancerous.
Now, @MOFCambridge has created a MOF that targets drug delivery directly to mitochondria.

The research has also uncovered the mechanism by which cells ‘swallow’ MOFs, providing a platform for developing more efficient drug delivery systems
